Go to your library and get the lists of recommended books. Local High Schools give their required reading lists to your libraries.

Also, the Young Adult Library Services Association puts out a yearly list of recommended books:

I hope that helps a bit!

i just finished reading Eragon, that was a really good book. Tamora Pierce is an amazing author i love anything she writes. also there are two books (hopefully there will be a third soon) by Stephenie Meyers the first is Twilight and the second is Blood Moon. Troll Fell is a good book. wow i've read a lot here okay, Janette Oke is really good. she's a Christian romance author. i read Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles and loved them. there is a series by Francine Pascal called Fearless, those are really good books. there's also a trilogy (most all the books i pick up at the library are part of something. lol.) by Scott Westerfeld and the three titles are (in order) Uglies, Pretties, and Specials. they sound strange but it couldn't hurt to give em a try right? there is another trilogy by Kate Constable and the titles are (again in order) The Singer of All Songs, The Waterless Sea, and The Tenth Power. David Almond's Heaven Eyes is really good. i found it a little confusing but all in all it's really good. Pride and Prejudice is one of my personal favorites. Goose Chase is really good (i 4got how many times i've read it) it's by Patrice Kindl. i've read tons more books but i can' think of anymore than these. i'm also a bookworm. if u ever want to chat about books or want some more suggestions email me at iluvdrma@yahoo.com. really hope i helped!!

Go to your local public library and learn to use their on line card catalog. There you will find books similar in subject to the ones that interested you most. You will also find a helpful library staff person who can show you lists of books for teenage readers as well as books you should read if you are going to go to college. A great website to check out is "yalsa" found at ala.org. Happy Reading!

If you like to learn about cultures and history, start reading historical books. Also, read some books written about Native Americans by Native Americans. Or any other culture or groups of people you are interested in. You can learn a great deal about life, about our country and history that isn't taught in school.

Try the unabridged Les Miserables. I read it when I was about 16 and totally loved it.

Have you read "Ophelia" by Lisa Klein yet? It was published recently and is about Ophelia in Shakespeare's "Hamlet." You should be able to find it in the YA or Teen section of your local bookstore or library.
