The question continue's:
Michael Jordans's 63 points (record for highest scoring playoff game)
Kobe Bryant's 81 (2nd highest scoring regular season game)
Wilt Chamberlain's 100 (record for highest scoring regular season game)
Vince Young's 467 rushing yards & 4 TD's (NCAA Rose Bowl)
Gale Sayers's 6 TD's from 14 touches (NFL)
Jamal Lewis's 295 rushing yards(NFL Record) & 2 TD's (NFL)
Mario Lemieux 5 different goals in 5 different ways (Hockey)
Roger Clemens's striking out 20 batters in 9 innings(Baseball)
Mark Whiten's 4 HR 12 RBI's(baseball)
Don Larsen's Perfect Game (1956 World Series Game 5, for the entire game he pitched a no-hitter)
Mike Tyson's 91 second KO over Michael Spinks(Spinks was a true top contender)
David Duval's Final-Round 59 to win(1999 Bob Hope Classic's)
and ETC...
These are the greatest sports single individual performances, & more likely we won't see any of these again. Which one is better? I like MJ's 63 point record holding playoff game the best!

Mario Lemieux's a goal each way(Even Strength, Power Play, Short-handed, Penalty Shot, Empty Netter) all in one game. It had never been done before and it hasn't been done since. People haven't even come close yet. As to Kobe it's not the record so shouldn't be on the list. With Lewis come on he got 295 yrds and only 2 TDs. I mean Don Larsen really belongs up there as the best ever in baseball. It wasn't just the no-no it was a WORLD SERIES perfect game.

Kobe Bryant's 81 point game against the Toronto Raptors on January 22, 2006. That was just unbelievable. The reason I picked this over Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points is plainly because the rules were so much different back then. Plus, I don't even think that defense was very important at all in Wilt's day.

Of your list-

Kobe for 81. In regulation. Game in the balance (Lakers trailed in that game). Mostly perimeter scoring.

MJ (The GOAT) had two OT sessions. His team lost. His 49 point game in regulation that series was better.

On MY list
1 Reggie Miller going for 25 in the 4th quarter(94 game 5) in the Garden to beat the Knicks. AND jawing at Spike!

2 Jordan 89 Game 5 v Cavs- still gives me goosebumps! (Oh and remamber Jordan hit a potential game winner on the posession BEFORE the freeze in the air 15 footer over Ehlo... 2 game winners in like 8 seconds!)

Gee, what a surprise.

Yeah, I have to agree with you James. People score 100 points a game all the time.

And pitching a perfect game in the World Series? Anyone can do that.

I'm beginning to think there's no hope for you.

Being a Reds fan I know this one -- Johnny van der Meer's back to back no-hitters in 1935 or 1936 (in that time frame). He pitched twenty two consecutive hitless innings, allow a hit and finished that game with a one hitter. Also Dimaggio's hitting streak. DYK he started a 35 gamer the day after his 56 gamer ened?

Without any doubt, it has to be Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game. I mean if you think about how many minutes there are in a basketball game, it is extremely hard to score that many points. He was even gettin tripled teamed and still they could not stop him. HANDS DOWN, GREATEST SPORTS PERFORMANCE

I would say Larsen's, because it was a World Series victory. Although, as a Brown's fan, Jamal Lewis' certainly hurt the most. I watched my team get absolutely trampled from start to finish.

Im going with either wilts 100 cause he did it being tripled or quadruple teamed. Or MJ 63 points cause that was against boston in its second coming heyday e.g. when it had bird and others

Wilt's 100 was amazing, but I have to go with Kobe's 81. I'm still blown away by that!
