It does nearly every year, here in Northern California. The cherry trees are blooming, the sun is shining... we're driving around in our convertibles... the grass is bright green after the recent rains... Of course, this will only last for 1-2 weeks... then we'll have more rain for about 6-8 weeks... then summer will be with us.

But we nearly always get 2 weeks of warm sunshine here toward the end of February...

No!!! spring comes on march 21st every year. Groundhogs day is supposed to tell if there are 6 more weeks of winter or 6 more weeks of spring, meaning If the groundhog See's his shadow then we will have 6 more weeks of cold, wintery weather, but if he doesn't then we will experience warmer weather and it will feel as if we are having an earlier spring.
