Music always got my attention, more awake, regardless of what type it was.I would want to dance or sing to the rhythm. What worked well for me was a "sleep machine" that you can program to play soft nature sounds like a waterfall or rain on the roof, ocean waves etc. You could use a fan and use that "white noise" to drown out whatever sounds that are impairing your sleep.Try to avoid caffeine drinks 4 hours before your bedtime etc. Take care. Well to help me fall asleep I play a song by IZ or Israel Kamakawiwo'ole called "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World." You've probably heard it before, it gives me the best dreams

Something that doesn't have words. Or something that is very calm. I find that if I listen to my normal music I stay wake longer than if I put on some relaxing guitar or Cello or orchestra music.

I listen to a CD of a rainstorm. It puts me to sleep and I wake up feeling more refreshed in the morning!

instrumental jazz, or sade works fine for me. I've never heard of any kind of music that can make your body sleepy.

it is different for each person. you want something calming and soothing. so rap might not be the best idea because it pumps you up. i like to listen to relaxing country. whatever personally calms you down would be best.
