home inspectors don't offer this service

You can get a termite inspection from a termite spraying company. You can look thoroughly yourself for little piles of sawdust on window sills or anywhere in your home where there is wood.

The lead should be able to be tested by the health department.
Give them a call and check. I know they test water in Florida.

Take a pocket knife or a short bladed knife and cut off a piece of the paint you are concerned about from under a window sill.
Some place that will not show.

For a termite inspection, contact a local pest control company. Most companies offer this service. If the inspection is for a real estate transaction (including refinancing), they will typically charge a fee. If you are buying or refinancing the house, be sure the company is reputable. Don't go with the cheapest just to get it done. Visit www.pestworld.org. It is the site of the National Pest Management Association. They have a list of members.

As for lead paint testing, I can only suggest that you contact the state or local health department for information. They may be able to give several names of laboratories that test for this. You might also check the EPA's website. They may have links to some resources that could point you in the right direction.

Call your local real estate agents office and they will give you number for local people that do these type of tests.
