No
He doesn't even deserve to be a reserve player let alone a starter

I personally think that Shaq should NOT be an All-Star this year just because he has missed three quarters of the season already because of a knee injury. The reason Shaq got voted as an All-Star this year is because the fans have gotten so used to him starting for his conference, they always want to see the Diesel play.

No way! The voting needs to be taken away from the fans, sad to say. Yao was also voted in. Why? Because there is a billion people in china and they have one major NBA "star" type player. He was hurt most of the season just like shaq. The coaches vote on the reserves, but they should be able to choose the starters also because this voting system has just gotten out of hand. The sports writers maybe should have a say in this too.

Yes, He didnt have a good year this year because of injury and age and last year he really wasnt that good either, but he is a legend. People want to see guys who have been stars over time.Who ever said the All_star is based only on this year. Shaq gets in for lifetime accomplishment and because he has a personality. People like Shaq, thats why he is in.

The All-Star game is for the fans, and the fans voted him in. As for making things right for the players, the coaches get to vote a few more people in, so those some of those that get overlooked get their due too. It's a fair system.

Does he deserve it? Well, he has won 4 championships, including the last one. When he's healthy, there still isn't a center in the game who is better, and he will be healthy enough to play in the All-Star game. Add on to that that he is arguably the best center of all time, and it's hard to argue against him getting to play, previous injuries or not.

Absolutely not.
He's been sitting on the bench injured
He was even surprised that he was voted in to the All-Star game

Even now, after the injury, he's playing worse than Sophomore Andrew Bynum of LA Lakers

He's done.

Yes. Because the NBA leaves the starters to the fans. Does Yao deserve to have the most votes? Yep. Thats the internet for you.

Heres a question... Do you know how many MVP's Shaquille has?

ONE. Thats it. The most dominant canter of our time has ONE. KG (and I love KG) has the same amount and has never won a ring. The Diesel should have at least 3 MVP's.

SO- whatever the big man gets... he deserves.

EDDY CURRY?????!!!!!????? C'mon now...

EDDY F'n CURRY??????

yes he does, actually its a great achivement that he has made the all -star game for 13 straight years(going to be 14 years this all star game) and kept making it from being a rookie. Hopefully if your a nba fan, do you think all the stars in the nba right now made the all -star game from their rookie season? and also, he is the BEST center in the league. if you compare him to yao-ming, you'll see that shaq has won the tip-off every time including the last all-stsr game held in houstan

Shaq is still the MAN! He can play ball. He has been hurt, but will be 100% for the playoffs.

He will win the East for Miami!

I agree with you but on the other hand ... someone said that even though he didn't do good this year he has contributed to the NBA for many years and maybe the fans felt like putting him in. Also he is one of the most dominant players in the NBA ever.
