It seems like it would be really easy to get referrals for a site that pays you to be online and is free to join. I have joined sites like these years ago and made good money because I referred like crazy, but all my old methods do not seem to work very well now.
So if you have some tips I would really appreciate it. Here is the site so you have a better understanding:

The current rage seem to be posting in forums but I think that even now this seem already ineffective as everybodies seen it before and will avoid.
I think the best way is to set up a free webpage or site offering information or a guide on what you want people to sign up for.
If you use something like freewebs.com its not going to cost anything and if you work on some search engine optimization you will get traffic from google etc and that means referrals.
A good example of this is http://www.unknownriders.co.uk which has loads of links to a free mini mac referral site.
