You probably have a laptop or a PC with a wireless connection. Even if it's wired, that error is telling you that your computer is trying to grab the same IP address that is now assigned to another one.

If you have a router, go into the settings and make sure there are enough available IPs for the number of PC's trying to connect.

As you can see, the more info you can give when asking for help, the better your answer will be.

It means there is more than one computer on your network trying to use the same IP address. This happens when each PC has a permanent, or "static" IP.

To change this, you need to get into Network Properties. Follow these steps:

1) Open Control Panel from the Start menu.

2) If you see a link on the left hat says "Switch to Classic View," click it. you should see several icons.

3) Double-click on "Network Connections."

4) Right-click on the icon called "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties."

5) you will see a box labeled "This connection uses the following items:" Scroll down in that box until you see "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)." Select it and click the "Properties" button.

6) There will be 4 radio buttons; 2 will says "Obtain automatically," 2 will say "Use the following..."

If there are a series of numbers in any of the boxes, RIGHT THEM DOWN and include the labels for the boxes (ie: IP address, Default Gateway, etc.).

7) Click the radio buttons next to BOTH of the obtain automatically, then click "OK" twice. You may have to restart the PC.

8) If this does not solve the issue, then you may need to follow the same procedure on each computer connected to the router/network.

this might ensue for many motives - yet i will enable you already know the thank you to restoration it. in case you have assorted computers in the back of a firewall, router, cable modem, or dsl modem - then you definately might desire to set all your computers to apply dynamic IP addresses (or DHCP). this might preclude IP handle conflicts on your community. For abode windows, open start up / administration Panel / community Connections. Double click on your community connection. click residences Scroll all the way down to "information superhighway Protocol (TCP/IP) and double click on it. confirm the two thoughts are "get carry of handle right away" click ok out of all your abode windows. bypass do this on all computers on your community. you will by no potential get that alert back, simply by fact the computers will confirm they are not making use of a similar IP handle. *in case you have on the spot, you may desire to verify you're making use of WEP or WPA encryption so no one else on your section can use your community - somebody else accessible ought to be inflicting this problem.
