I'm getting ready to go to my first Greyhound race. A friend of mine told me that when betting on greyhounds at the races, look for the dog that takes a bowel movement just before the race. This dog will be the likely winner. (Unless more than one dog does this, I assume)
This just sounds like BS to me(Or shoulc I say DS). But, says lots of people know this and it works. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

It isn't the case. Trainers have methods of making sure their dog doesn't win in order to rip off bookmakers and the dog is said to have been "stopped" but unless you have inside information you won't be able to tell which dogs can't win. Even the best dog in the race can get hampered so it isn't a sport to bet a lot of money on- there are no certainties.

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of this - although using logic, if the dog is lighter (from having a bowel movement), it certainly stands to reason and does make sense.

Good Luck at the Dog Track.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

You already have some good answers here. I heard of a missionary who died in Puerto Rico before I got there. I think he was hit by a car while on his bicycle. Although I'm pretty sure there are no scriptures in the Standard Works (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, or Pearl of Great Price) that will come right out and say "all good missionaries who die on their mission will go to heaven," there is one verse in Doctrine and Covenants 4 which might POSSIBLY be read that way, "For behold the field is white already to hearvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul." However, I would read that verse as meaning that by doing sincere and dedicated missionary service, there are blessings associated with such labor which also are "unperishable," so to speak. What might be assumed is that if missionaries are already in the missionary work mode, they would be called to continue missionary work in the spirit world, having already been "trained" during their lives here.

they induce bowl movements in the dogs before races.

to make cramps less likely, and to give the dog that much less to think about durring the race.
