I've wanted a baby for ages now, I'm 24 and been with my b/f for 4ish years. We do want kids, just after we are married. (not engaged at the moment)

However I have such strong broody feelings and he is not helping! He points babies out to me when were out and tiny ickle baby clothes. I'm torn inside by my desire to have a baby now or to wait until he is ready. I know I'm strong enough to wait, but I'd like some suggestions to make it easier! Help?

I'm more then capable of waiting, I'd just like to know if there is anyway to stop myself thinking of the cute little buggers so much!

what about joining a church tinytots group or similar where you help mothers with their kids/babys. By the time you get home you are so glad you don't have one yet :)

Well waiting is the most important thing. But to keep your mind away maybe think of the horrible labor stories, you know some women get ripped down there, painful..hello!! Also think about the not so pleasant times. You are preoccupied with the cute, sweet moments. Think about the sleepless night becuase the babyu has to be fed every so often, the sore body, the changing body, the stretch marks, the sleeplees nights becuase you are too tired to go to sleep. Hope it helps!!!!!!

Being a mum is such hard work - the dream of having a baby is lovely but the reality is so much different. you need to wait until you are both ready and strong enough to be parents.
Theres 9 months of pregnancy which isnt easy - it can be but then again it might not be- then theres the labour - which is okay - hurts but its worth it, then theres sleepless nights, dirty nappies, being sick, then they get older and grow up and become toddlers and they hit you and talk lol
being a mum is fantastic!! but you gotta make sure your ready!
so wait until your b/f is! :) it will be worth it!

Well you REALLY want to get married FIRST because that partner will be with you no matter if the baby stays up all night or not! When my husband and I got married we weren't really trying but if it happend it happened. I became pregent a year and 6 months later so I had to be patient.Every time I saw a baby my heart ached but it's was SOOOOO better that I waited!!!!
It also gave our relationship to develop as husband and wife cuz we married in 2005.It helped us have us time to enjoy just each other.Babys take SOOOO much time and energy that it sometimes hard to connect as much as we would like too.
Please just see if he wants to commit to you forever before babys PLEASE!!Then have fun with the wedding and all that fun stuff :)
Oh yeah and babys are VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!So you would want someone to help you with expenses permently!!

Think of yourself as single mother doing it all by yourself, that should be enough. Wait, you're not even engaged, what's the rush. Enjoy each others company for now and respect his wishes, don't make any rash decisions.

Well if you really love him then you would wait patiently and in the mean time just make out. Then he'll start edging forward and pretty soon he'll be begging to his knees for that child you wanted all along!
