there is a wireless router somewhere around my area and my comp detects it and i can connect to it only problem is i dont know how. so does anyone know how to hack into it and use it?? and is it faster then dsl?? i have basic dsl so i want to know if its faster. thanks!!

it is probably not faster then your DSL since you would be sharing bandwidth with whoever is providing the wireless service. There are different types of connections when you "view available wireless networks" you will see some with security and some without. The only ones you can legally connect to are those that are listed as "unsecured wireless networks" and even then your bending the law. Many cities are installing wireless service that can be used by all, many of these will allow you to have free access, with ads, but you will need to register with them.

Be careful!

That is called "War Driving" which can get you into trouble with the law. It is much safer to go to someplace like the public library and use their Internet connection.
