The germans that helped the Jews hid them on their property. The founder of my school lived in a hole in the ground that was 3 feet deep and 10 feet by about 4 feet with 6 other people for 2 years. Others 'adopted' Jews and pretended as if they were a son or daughter.

Well some people like the president of Leica Cameras hired Jews and other of the Nazi's "Undesirables" and sent them overseas as employees on the company.since they had a job and countries that would keep refugees out would allow employees on a company.

Some people were given forged papers and lived in the open as non Jews or non Gypsy's and the like. If they were supposed to see that they were shipped off to the camps they marked them as arrived and then sent these people off to Switzerland or Sweden.

Did you try a web search on the holocaust. There is a lot of information available and you should be able to find exactly what you need for your project.
