I have tried on ONE three button suit and it seemed pretty long. I'm sure not all suits are made the same. But generally for my height and build should I wear a two- or three- button suit?

You can find suits of the same length with 2 or 3 buttons, so length shouldn't be an issue. It's more about a style decision. I'd stick with the 3 button, as it is a classic. Many people think that 2 button suits are too pretentious, so you could unwillingly give someone a bad impression just by wearing one (not all of them of course are like that, but generally the 2 button suits are a bit more casual, giving an impression that you don't really care to look dressy, you just wear it because you think you look slick). So if you want a real suit, go with 3 buttons, otherwise just get a sports coat. Make sure you have the suit fitted to you by a tailor, many stores have one on site and will fit it to you for a small charge.

either one would work

BUT!!! you must go to a tailor!!! no matter what suit you buy make sure you get it altered to flatter your shape if you don't take this extra step you'll look like you walked out of a thrift store

take my advice for a tiny bit more $ you'll look as sharp as a million bucks

That relies upon on your physique fat proportion. Arnold Shwarz(regardless of) weight 250 pounds with next to no longer something in physique fat, would you call him obese? no :). Weight has no longer something to do with being risky, that's the pointless volume of physique fat which you have that's. additionally, women tend to be meant to look as though that, adult men are massive up precise, skinny on the backside (many times).
