Have you tried email and IM? Sometimes IM is easier to keep the 'small talk' alive.

Well, contact her then and tell her how you feel!
If you are miles apart, there will always be some degree of reduced contact. But is up to both of you to keep in touch.
how about starting by inviting your friend do lunch and a movie with you. Yall can hang out and catch up, and then get her e-mail and phone number and make try to talk more often. Become a semi pen pal!

Write her a letter or email tell her exactly how you are feeling and you want her and yourself to still be very close. Ask her if something is wrong, maybe something bad happened that has her attention at the moment. Poor out your heart to her and I am sure she will respond. Take care Heather

I am in the same situation, my friend moved to Nebraska and seems to be happy but when we talks he(and I) sound like different people. Sometimes change is good so don't worry to much, just continue with your life and speak whenever you can.
