It's a pretty fantasy, but in order to engage in peace, there has to be 2 willing parties.

The government does bring in some revenue besides from taxing... However, the government is representing the people and if people weren't taxed, it wouldn't really be representing the government, it'd just be another company with a CEO. Anyways, that's besides the point. It is way too difficult for the government to make revenue because of the fact that we are having wars constantly, developing technologies, and not to mention, running tons of federal programs. Without taxes, we'd be devastated nationally. We have taxes now but we can't even cover our expenses and we have to borrow butt-loads of money from foreign countries. I can rant on and on but I won't

The oil we are drilling in Iraq is paying for some of the cost, if not all the cost. Just remember Iraq has the second largest oil deposit in the world, and the highest quality oil in the world. Iraq oil makes Saudi and Venezuelan oil look like the cheap stuff. In other words, the Iraq oil has less chemicals like sulfur that makes it easier to refine. If there were peace in this physical world, who would make all the decisions to ensure our peace. I could guarantee you there will be some knucklehead who will cry out during the time of peace "It's not fair."

There isn't any money to be made by waging peace. Sad, but true, and that is why Politicians like wars, because they reward those that pay for their campaigns. Look at how much money the oil companies have made from the chaos in the middle east! Record PROFITS, then look at who was the biggest contributor to Bush's campaign...the oil companies. You can ALWAYS follow the money trail to know what is up.

one because there is no money in peace. with war production on many things goes way up. second if we back out know we will end up fighting the war all over again, cause as soon as we back out it will be taken as a sign of weakness. causing the enemy to become stronger, giving them time to regroup and inevitably we will end up fighting them on our own soil wich would be even more devestating

Because there is no money in Peace. The more war there is the more money is made and the faster technology advances. Look back at history and you'll see it is true.
