in the middle of the night and totally confused about where you are?

Yes... Some people call that a "hang-over." I generally wake the troll in the bed next to me and ask him where my panties are, then find my way home.

Back in college, once took a van trip to Denver with a bunch of people I didn't know very well. The van was in the mountains when I fell asleep. I woke up hours later in an unfamiliar place (the van), looked out the windows and was in a strange place (flat plains) and surrounded by unfamiliar people. That was the wierdest. The wierd feeling lasted until we got to Denver.

That's happened to me several times, mostly in college, he he. But ya, you do wake up disoriented and lie there for a second trying to remember where you might be before it hits you. Hopefully it does hit you.
