I drove the latest 3.5L V6 car with the E-85 option. It was so smooth and classy ride. Interior, albeit old, looked very classy. What do you think?

By other cars, if you mean the German and Jap makes - well I will have to say it isn't upto their standards, but for an American that I have driven, it was the best.
Besides, the older Impalas I heard have a lot of problems regarding reliability & maintenance issues (especially ones before 2004), but the latest ones that come with the Flex-Fuel option & displacement-on-demand look pretty cool.

I work in a garage and I drive many vehicles, I find the smoothest, classiest riding car is the Ford Crown Victoria. The 3L series of GM had many problems the internally and externally leaking. I drive a truck myself, but if i were ever in the market for a car, I work definatly look at buying a Crown Victoria. They are cheap cars to run, and easy cars to fix, and they seem to last forever. I have a friend that works for another garage and they service Taxi cars that are Crown Victorias, and its not uncommon for them to see them at over 500 000km, I've seen these get up to 700 000km before. usually they are sold or distroryed before they die, they very rarly die without being damaged. Usually they die when the owner doesn't want to maintain it anymore.

I owned a 70's Impala and loved it.
I rented one a couple years back and thought it a great piece of American produced crap.
Glad to hear you think it is a good car, I myself refuse to buy new cars and support the unions that have run the rest of our jobs out of the country. When the Big 3 start making cars with parts made in America, I may change my mind.
Until then I will not support them.

It's a great car,GM's best seller and when I saw it I was impressed especially with the trunk space, I haven't seen a trunk like that since the 59 cadillac, you can get the V8 and have 300 hp. and run down the highway on 4 cylinders and get great gas mileage.

If you like it fine. I gave up on the Impala after it went to fwd. There hasn't been a American car made after 1996 that I would even consider. I'll stick to used cars.

Depends what KIND of car you are looking for. If you are looking for something good on gas, lots of room, etc. As far as the new Impala.... One car magazine called it one of the worst redesigns. I myself don't like the styling. I'm not a Ford person, but I think the Ford Fusion is a better car than the Impala.
