Many jobs, including opera singer, QVC host, and host of various TV shows. We in the Bay Area knew him as host of Evening Magazine for many years.

Lots of voice overs. Narrations. Even sang with an Opera company.
You know who has the dirtiest job in America? The poor dudes who follow Mike around with a camera. They have to do everything he does, get just as deep into the filth and nastiness as he does and they have to just be quiet and take it. Now that is a completely suck job!!

i think he was a comedian, and he also does a lot of the narrating of the other shows on discovery
