I don't know for sure. I wasn't born until 1978. Yes there are plenty of conspiracy theories out there for everything from global warming being a farce, to whether there concentration camps being built in the US,and everything in between and beyond. I definitely think that we should each judge the merits of a theory individually, then make an informed decision. As for the moon-landing, a lot of people say the shadows go the wrong way, etc. You'd have to educate yourself on the basics of light and shadows, and then decide whether that makes sense to you.
Personally, I don't care if they did or not. There's a LOT of more important disinformation out there to worry about.
Get the book "Everything you know is wrong"
Interesting, at the least.

A lot of people think that we landed on the moon. I personally dont for the following reasons.
(i) the moon has no atmosphere ..... therefore no protection from the harmful 'space rays' which would kill them
(ii) the surface temperature of the moon, where the sun shines on it is over 400 deg centigrade..... i don't think those suits could cope with that.
(iii) The photos taken by the crew are perfect photos..... I can't believe that someone with the camera on his chest, without a viewfinder could take such perfect pictures
(iv) How much fuel would be needed to land the spaceship and then re-launch it.... i'm sure that it would have needed to refuel. Plus the fuel needed to get the lander to be the same speed as the orbiting ship..... hmmmmm not sure !!!
(v) How come there's no markings from the thrusters when the craft landed
(vi) how come the flag is waving when there is no wind. If, like they say, it's solar wind..... why dont they use that material to make super efficient engines that could end global warming
(vii) In 1969 a pentium 4 would have been the size of a football field ( I'm exagerating !), how did they manage to link up with the main part of the spaceship which was orbiting. From what I understand you need to do quite a few sums to get it right. I really dont think that technology could have coped.
(viii) I've seen the video of the lander taking off. Looks like something out of thunderbirds. Any movie buff will see that it looks fake.
There are hundreds of other abnormalities with the mission, but the one that gets me is, how come not one single astronomer can locate the position of the landing, since they left a lot of things behind. We should be able to see it.

Well I find it an interesting question. After reading articles and seeing programs on tv discussing it; I have to conclude that by a weight of inconsistencies I do believe that the Americans did not land on the moon!
Two of the non-believing evidences are also:
1) a problem with the actual clarity of the photo that was achieved in this harsh circumstances and with the technology of that time; and
2) it looks on the pics as though a natural light from above lightens up the space guy's face, which is not possible in space (i.e. not on the moon) and with the kind of helm he was wearing.

Yes. They really did. Think about it, if there was any question that the Americans didn't really land a man on the moon why wouldn't the Russians have called them on it?

Which is easier to believe? That Americans actually launched men into orbit and landed on the Moon, or that they faked it and some alien race put up the reflectors and equipment that NASA and amateur radio enthusiasts have been bouncing signals off for the last 35 years.

Of course they landed on the moon. I was named after Mr Armstrong. It was back in the days when America was great, when people worked hard for a living, and integrity and ingenuity meant something.

It was all a fake, filmed on a vast soundstage in Hollywood. Neil Armstrong portrayed himself, but Orson Welles played the Moon.

They did land on the moon. Why would they try to fool people when you see the rocket go up and that?

Too many conspiracy theories on that one.
I guess they could have, but why have they not done it more often if they have already done it? Thats what gets me.
Eddie Izzards sketch on Dress To Kill about the landing on the moon is very very funny if you want to see his point of view on it.
