i already have mcafee virus scan plus 07, what realtime protection shields do you use or which one do you reccomend, i dont want trials, i don't want teatimer or adwatch, and i don't want spyware doctor becasue it starts up too slow in my computer

There are a number of free antispyware programs which offer real time protection, such as: Spybot Search& Destroy, Microsoft's Windows Defender, Spyware Terminator, Arovax Shield, Winpatrol and Cyberhawk.
The first 3 are spyware scanners which offers real time protection. The last 3 are not scanners; instead, they are host intrusion protection software (HIPS) or sometimes called intrusion detection software. Regardless, they don't use spyware signatures. They look for behavior which is common to all malicious files, so called heuristic scans. They work great for zero day exploits (i.e. protection against new malicious files that the security software makes haven't developed a patch yet).
All 6 choices are free. I would recommend Winpatrol. I've been using it for 3 years now and it works great. It monitors several key areas, including: startup programs, browser homepage, browser default search engine, hosts file, file type association and key areas of Windows registry.

Mcafee is the best anti virusand anti spyware. But ensurethat it is active when the Pc is started. If you need I can give you few links that deal with anti virus and anti spy wares.
