Is it CD-RW or CD+RW? if not then too bad man, splurge and get yourself some of those, they're about the same price.

The only way to write over a used CD is if it is a rewritable CD.

Hi,
If it's a CD-R then you can't erase it. If it is a CD-RW then you can erase it. R means recordable and RW means rewritable so you can use it over and over. Hope to have cleared things up for you.

You can not write on a cd after it has been closed. if you start a disk as a multi-session disk you can continue where you left off. If it is CDRW or DVDRW you can re-write and erase. Although, if it is a CDR , DVDR once the data is written you can not erase or write over.
