No one is stupid or idiot. Each person has different way of understanding music. There are several ways to understand your English song.
1) Each CD comes with lyrics - you play your music and at the same time hum your song with provided lyrics.
2) Listen to your favorite songs over and over again - doing this it will help you to know what the singer wants to share.
3) Listen to it and start to write the lyrics down - try to write as much as possible, then gather them all together, sing with the music - You will find more in doing this step because you can hum, sing, write and understand the meaning of the song.
I hope those three ways will help you. Good luck.

It's something that happens over a period of time. You cannot start learning a language and after a year expect that you're going to understand everything that is said by the speakers of that language. English people may have accents and there might be words which you have never heard of before. English language is my second language and I have been learning it for like the past ten years and there are still times in which I have to listen to a song for a lot of time to catch all of the lyrics.. if I do manage to do that. I hope I helped :)

Even native speaking English speakers have problems understanding songs. In English so many phrases and words are used as slang and do not translate literally. You are not an idiot. Ask five people to explain what they think a song means and you are likely to get five answers.
Scholars have made careers of figuring out the meaning of the works of famous authors, artists, poets and song writers. Experts do not always agree.
Good luck!

im not indian but some songs may seem difficult to understand. I suggest you look up the lyrics and read them while the song is playing that way you know what they're saying and if there's a word you dont understand look for the definition.

The more you listen the better you understand songs in another language. When I was in school I liked the days we worked with songs and now I like to listen to songs in Spanish and French. Not exactly the same kind of stuff the teachers played for us to work with, but new music in Spanish and French.
