The big thing to watch out for with 3 is the "Tariff Downgrade Trap". This means that if you get a 3 phone on contract, you can can only go on a cheaper tariff (downgrade) you'll have to pay a £25 admin fee to do so. This charge is payable on each downgrade and you can only downgrade one level at a time. A pretty expensive outlay if you want to step down from the highest to the lowest tariff incrementally. Just a word of warning about that, so you're prepared.

I have had a 3G phone on contract and would not suggest that anyone gets into a contract with them. They have little respect for there customers and when they don't send the bill correctly they send debt collectors even though you have contacted them. this is only my opinion and you must make your own choice.

3 mobile phones can be good but you can only top up with higher amounts than most mobile companies and you have to use it all before a certain date or it will all disappear and they don't have extras
