RIDING FACILITIES

I'm going to be starting a horse business (boarding, lessons, ect.) and I need a barn that can house up to 30 horses, a tack room, and an office.
I'm looking for something that's nice to look at AND useful. Price is not anything for me to worry about.

Example of what Im looking for:

with someone with experience on this kind of thing, i personaly perfer morton buildings. i like the way they are built and last long. we have some morton pole barns-open on one side in the pastures and our main barn is marton. very pleased with them. i really dont like the layouts. they dont seem very well put together. if money is not a problem have a profesional help u layout a good plan. unless u are buying already layed out i would suggest the very last layout.

I for one have always been very impresed with the morton buildings. my girl friend and I plan to use them for our ranch. they are very versital and durable, and they weather very well. the only problem that we have found with them is for use as an indoor arena. The stabel that we curently have our horses at uses a Morton building as an indoor arena, on the inside it has I-beems that stick out about 8 inches from the wall. that is somthing that you don't want to hit when you are on a horse.

As for witch layout, that is alot harder to pickeach one has it's good parts and its bad parts. The one Marked FLINTWOODFARM was the best, but there are some big probles with it. i liked that there are 3 pastures. this gives you one pasture for the pasture board horses, one for turn out services for the stall board horses, and to let grow. what i mean by this is you can switch the pasture board horses between two pastures each week. this give the grass in the pasture you are not using a chance to grow. also if you have horses that are not getting along you can seperate them into differant pastures.

Now for the problems, you really need to have the barn conected to one of the pastures, when the stall board horses need to be turned out, you don't want to have to take them all the way acrost the ranch, it waist alot of time and time is money. last you need at least one wash rack and 3 sets of cross ties.

The best thing to do is call OTHER sucessful horse businesses, ask if you can tour their facilities, and ask them what works & what they would change about their buildings, if they could. Lots of useful info would be gathered this way!

umm my advice is to call other horse barns in your area and ask if you can come out at take a look around or somthing like that and see how the barn is set up and ask them who did it

I like the first of both options. The best thing about having the pastures in the front is that you can watch them from afar. The barn looks amazing

I think the 3rd one is the best.
