if you wake up in the middle of the night from a dead sleep, and he is the only thing that you are thinking about, then you are most probably hopelessly in love...

Have you been talking to him over the internet, phone or face to face? When you are in love you just know it. You get a nice feeling all over.

If you mean only online or the phone... you can't love him.
If you mean as friends hanging out (in person), you will not try to be anything but yourself, you won't care what he thinks of you (like what you're wearing or if your hair is messed up etc.)
If you mean something else... sry, idk
