Since cricket is a game of uncertainties as has been proved on many occasions, nothing can be predicted for sure about the outcomke of a tournament in advance.
While South Africa and Australia are hot favourites top win the world cup, even their victory cannot be guaranteed as the present form does not matter and what matters is the form during the world cup. Whichever country play to their potential consistently stand a chance to win the world cup. As it stands all the top 8 teams sgtand a chance to win the world cup[.

I feel South Africa or India would lift the World Cup -2007.India can win if they play with Right Understanding, high motivation among players ,Coaches and the team management high leadership qualities, then India could lift the World Cup -2007
On the other hand South Africa is getting better and better, they have the slight edge over India especially in fielding abilties, their thinking abilities, etc would also make some difference between India and Southafrica. If India could overcome these strong points from SA then i have no hesistation to say that India are strong favourites to win the World Cup .Best of Luck to Indian Team

Australia, West Indies, South Africa and India are strong contenders.
Factors helping India -
The best indian team going for the World Cup after the 1983 Presidential Cup. India has found good openers in Ganguly and Uthappa, with Sehwag in there too. Yuvraj, Dravid, Dhoni and Tendulkar steady the middle order to form one of the best middle order batting. Lower middle order of Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer can hit a few runs too.
As on bowling - Zaheer and Sreesanth/Munaf Patel will be opening and are not as bad. Kumble, Harbhajan and Sachin - Sehwag can bowl many spin overs between them. That leaves one guy extra. He can be employed as a strike bowler - Irfan/Sreesanth or Dinesh Kaarthick as the 11th guy. Irfan can bat as well.
It is a very powerful batting line-up, and make take a beating on their bowling lineup.
Quality Fielders are in plenty - Yuvraj, Uthappa, Sachin, Kaarthick. Fielders like Munaf Patel will have to be hided on the field.
There are all winning chances for India. India will reach the semi-finals for sure.

I think the teams that are capable of winning the world cup this yr would probably have to be
1. Australia ( you can never count them out)
2. South Africa ( they are strong team and can beat anyone)
3. India ( They are a good team and can beat anyone if they play really well as a team)
4. England ( Considering their recent win in Australia, they can also be in contention)

SOUTH AFRICA is going to win the WC. They have been consistently playing well and also they are now ranked no.1 in the world. They defeated Australia by making 439 runs.

South-Africa, Shri lanka & India will

Australia because they are playing only to win and in world cup they are playing like Arjun of Mahabharat who during his education period when Drodacharya asked him that what he may see Nobody but Arjun Said that He can Saw only eyes of parrot. Australia is play like Arjun Whose Eyes are on world cup and wants to get it.
