I have a really big music trip... for band... I play flute and piccolo and alot saxohpne and guitar and I sing..... I am in a lot of groups... for regular band there is a huge trip... to honor everone who's stayed in band for 3 years (I'm in 8th grade), since 6th grade...

I need to raise money to pay for this trip... my mom will pay what I can't raise, but I want to raise a lot, b/c my mom is not 'made of money' like most of my friends' parents are... I feel bad for taking her money... so please help

I need simple fundraisers, that I could do right now. I was thinking I could go door-to-door and say something like "I am trying 2 raise money for a trip w/ the ___ (name of skool) band, and for $2 I will play a song on my flute for you, renaissance or classical or Latin. Your $2 would be very benificial towards my payment for this trip." and I'd thank them very politely afterwards whether they said yes or not... I know my friends' parents always want me to play for 'em, I am good. HELP

I am in the state honor band on flute, I am good... I noticed adults seem to enjoy my playing... is my idea good? or not? IF YOU HAVE OTHER IDEAS PLEASE DO SHARE! I can't do chores (that would mean taking my mom's money) and I don't have anything to sell. I can make jewelry as well as whoever makes the jewelry at Nortrom... I can imitate their jewelry exactly. HELP PLZ

I think that you are very mature and responsible young lady. I think what you say is a good idea. I am sure that you could raise some funds that way. I wish you a lot of luck.

My kids needed to do the same. Believe it or not, if you put together a nice solicitation letter explaining what your doing and requesting donations and send that letter to business in your area you would be surprised how many will send something. You might only get small donations, but you will get some. Be sure the letter is personalized (i.e. to the owner of the business) and focus on locally owned business not to big national companies or franchises. Don't waste your time with Wal*mart or McDonalds. Go for the local insurance agents, local car dealers, pizza joint, dentists etc.... You should try and make a deal with a family member (parents, grandparents, rich uncle...) to match every $ you earn up to a specific limit. You will have to get a job. You should be able to land a job busing tables, bagging groceries, making pizza without much difficulty. The job will only pay minimum wage and you will need to show the family member mentioned above that you are committed by saving most if not all this $ you earn towards your goal. Keep a visible running tally for them to see, like a united way goal thermometer. Don't under estimate how much $ you will need for spending $. Europe is VERY expensive.

I would think you would need a license to go fund raising door to door, why not ask at a store if you could stay out side in the front and play music people will drop money in a case or what ever you have. take a Friend with you and you could even make a sign up saying what for.

I do not think you should go door to door, that's not always safe. You can make extra money by recycling. Put the word out to everyone you know, that you would like to collect all of their aluminum cans and plastic bottles for recycling.

Buy the large boxes of candy bars and try to sell them. Babysit, ask your neighbors if there are jobs they need help with. People are very helpful in these situations.
