It is difficult, if not impossible to predict what a potential employee is going to be like when you are interviewing them and deciding whether to hire them. I am a Manpower employee and have found that I frequently get offers from a company after I have taken a temporary assignment. It is much easier to find out what somebody in really like after you have worked with them for a few weeks.

By eliminating them with extreme prejudice from 75% of the available work force BEFORE they get to your office. Out of 5 people I work with, only one is not like you describe (and she's not my supervisor).

Not all of them are. Senator Burr from NC and Congresswoman Foxx from NC are two fine examples. People like McCain and Obama are representing the "people", but yet are strongly in favor of abortion and a "guest worker" program for illegal immigrants.

Stop paying them so well. Make public service a non-profit intitution and then only people who want to serve will run.
