I know gas is usually cheaper than electric (gas dryers vs. electric dryers, gas/oil heaters vs. electric heaters, etc.). But I live in a small studio apartment and it would be more convenient to use a George Foreman grill or electric stove. Is it cheaper too because the area used to heat is much smaller than when preheating and using a gas oven? Or when just using the gas stove top burners is that cheaper than the smaller electric ones?

Small Electric Appliances don't cost much to run. Somewhere on the appliance it will state how much wattage it uses Depending on whether you're burning natural gas or propane, the cost may vary. If you live in a small apartment and burn a lot of gas without a chimney, you may be burning up your room air, creating lots of carbon dioxide net and at some point maybe even carbon monoxide.

Only if you electric power comes from hydroelectric or nuclear power. In all other cases gas is cheaper and less polluting. It is not even close. Consumer Reports does an incomplete analysis of the real cost of powering appliances both in terms of thermal efficiency and pollution. My 35 mpg Corolla produces less pollution than the coal powered powerplant making the KVAs for my neighbors 100% electric car. Same with my gas stove. Much cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

Gas would be cheaper. However, you aren't running a restaurant or cooking for a large family. I am quite sure a George Foreman grill would be ideal in your situation. Probably should also get a decent toaster oven so you can add some variety to your choices.

With what I imagine is your limited use, I wouldn't think the savings would matter.

Usually gas is always better because of the cost. the amoount of electricity used to warm electrical appliances is more than the cost o gas.

its cheaper to use gas, because those george forman grills can suck a lot of power, and if gas is cheaper in your area, its better to use that and also i feel like its natural to use gas grills instead of electic, gives burgers or something else like that a char-broiled taste!
