I have lots of Macedonian acquaintances from college. Some are great, others suck. Just like any other peoples. About the name dispute, we just don't talk about it. I respect that each country's history books taught us different versions.
In general, I'd say they're friendly. I've heard that Macedonian border guards are deliberately not helpful to Greeks though (keeping them too long for passports etc).

I think that the verb "hate" is too heavy. I have two questions I would like to ask you, though you could take them as rhetorical If you wish. Why you limit your question only for the Greeks? And what you feel toward Bulgarians, as another neighboring country ( I would add and something more). Lately,I've heard only negative news and can't grasp why. Dear, have you heard as I did Greeks to replace "Bulgarians" with "vulgaros"?
My friends told me that there is a term, used to signify clashy, messy, chaotic and not civilized act, namely "Balkanization".
We need to "switch on" into positive Balkan talk, blunt, true and deep..Who has won from all the bloodshed, antagonism and separative ideas ever?
God bless you!

NOT a matter of hatred. Simply a matter of historical inacuracy when the government decided to usurp the name Macedonia, I suppose to give itself some historical credence.
Although ancient Macedonia extented beyond the part now contained within Greece, the current residents of the northern segment cannot possibly claim descendancy from Alexander or Philip simply because they were a bit late in coming, like about 1000 years. By claiming to be Macedonians you plainly are gloating in a past which is not yours to claim.
And most likely the disparate ethnic groups within will eventually attach themselves to their ethnic brothers during the next turmoil, ie the albanians will secede to Albania, the Bulgars to Bulgaria and so on.

My friend,we have no reason to hate you.The thing is that,as it's been said above,Slavs have nothing to do with Macedonia. You just got to live, after arriving in the area about 800(after Christ),where part of ancient Macedonia were.Just for using a name for your country that does not represent your history is not a cause to hate you. Greece have nothing to divide with none of its neighbors and Greeks are aware that a lot of things happened in Balcan's troubled past. But knowing our past will allow us to learn from our mistakes and move further to a peaceful future.
Besides all the Greek buisinessmen that have invested in your country don't really care about how you wish to call it or yourselves, though they should.
These being said,I am sure that your are as much nice people as Greeks are(at least most of us!).

I never use the word hate,on people I don't personally know. . .Greek people (that includes me as well)are very very proud and really base their behaviour on history and all the things they've gone through all ages...And that's why we can't accept the fact that others will be named macedonians as well.I personally haven't known anyone from that country so I don't know their behaviour at all...

We don't hate you. We never hated you, why should we hate you now?
I believe that there in Skopje you have a large propaganda against Greece. I can't say that it's not easy to understand the reason. Macedonian issue is of great importance for you (it's about your own country's name and history). In Greece this is one of many issues, that's why we are not that of all thinking about Skopje.
And if you were clever to ask just for the name - something like Slavomacedonia - (as part of the territory you live at) I believe that there would be no issue at all. But you say that everything (history, symbols, etc) are yours. And that's the problem.
You see, it's like having a naughty neighbour. There is nothing to hate. There is just a matter that must be solved.

Hello!
We don't hate anyone!
Mercy!
Why should the Greeks hate all the world?
Don't listen what the propaganda in your state says!If you come in Greece you will see how cool the people is.
But,you have to stop using the term Macedonians when you refer to the people of your country Fyrom!
Macedonians live only in authentic Macedonia in Greece.
If you keep using that name I will ask you then: "Do you hate us,the Greek people?"

I don't think people who live in FYROM are hated by the Greeks in general, just maybe calling yourself Macedonian and claiming specific events history in Greece as your own is a bit insulting.

Thumbs down for telling the truth? You know where you can put it.

Hello dear!
Hate is the previledge of lower capacity and intelectuality people!
Thus, you can find people hating in every group, since there is no group composed of all intellectual, educated and intersting people!
Since you ask, I writing what I have in mind:
Your "state" is a newborn one, which is like a little kid who is requesting for many while some of them are important and others are really crucial. Now, when you have a little brother, or child who is insisting in getting something good or bad, what do YOU do?
Well, as we know, suger is against human health. Still, my child might request sweets! What do I do? Well, personally, I do not give sugar bu honey, or other real sweet - and not chemically produced products.
Since the child will scream for what she/ he demands, the more mature should play a role to bring up the child and create the best character possible. Similarly we are doing with your newborn state.
Who loves you and your country more than Greeks and Greece?
Think about it! NONE!
Most of the financial movement in your country is by or through Greece and Greeks.
Even historically, when we were asked to attack (and you did not have any power to defend) we not only refused but stopped this vision from other states, stronger, much stronger that you, who would thus gain not only part of your country but internal security and unity of their state!
So, my friend, brother, neighbore, Greeks do not hate you, they love you, but you, as the children, you will understand it, with time!

No Ovcichka! Greeks in general don't hate you! Don't forget that a lot of Greeks have invested in your country!
(There are probably fanatics who hate you but they hate everybody!!!!)
I personally don't hate you at all!!!
I consider a good friend of mine the user Karolina and even Rouse!
I also consider you a logical person who also tries to use arguments!
But unfortunately there are fanatics from your side who post completely insulting and unhistorical questions! (and that really irritates a lot of Greeks!)
I even wish the best for your country!
I don't want to post anything about history or anything else as you requested but always remember that I personally don't hate the Slav-Macedonians( and you especially!)
I don't even hate Solun! I actually like him!!
He hasn't realize that his (extremely fanatic)views cause more damage than good!
I also cant stand to see our history biased and hijacked!
If you could understand a little bit our history you will realize that is not hate against you but only defense for our inheritance!
Again I wish the best for you and your country!
(although i think that the Albanian-Macedonians have a different agenda about your country!)
(By the way I really like your avatar! Dint you have a donkey before?)
