Hi, my 4 year old grandson is starting soccer. I do not know anything about it. Please answer these questions if you can. How do you measure/fit shin guards? He needs cleated shoes with out a toe cleat, is this standard to find them without? Are boys size 13 shoes and girls size 13 the same size? How do you put on socks, shin guards, etc.? He is 43 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds, not overweight, he has wide shoulders and is a very sturdy boy. Any name brands that are good? Any stores that are good to go to in Kansas City, MO area? Thank you for all info!

hi i work in a sports shop.first off make sure you bring the child in to the shop with you to try on the stuff!it is very annoying when a customer comes in and asks for something and they expect us to know there kids size!the only way you know is by trying them on there and then!shin guards gos by height,e.g [4ft11-5ft 6],you can ask the shop assistant can he try it on in shop.normally girls size 13 will be more of a narrow fit but same on the length!there is no need to spend loads of money on the gear as he will prob grow outta them pretty quickly!

When looking into shinguards make sure that he tries them on first so taht they are comfortable. For his heighth the shin gaurds should be about 4 to 6 inches long. When it comes to cleats most childrens cleats are made with out the toe spike. A good brand to go with is adidas. they fit well and are durable.
