I have no idea where you are getting your info, but the 1864 British penny (bronze) with Queen Victoria on the obverse, had a mintage of 3,441,000. There are 2 types one with a plain 4 in the date the other has a crosslet 4 in the date. The latter being the rarer. The coin is only rare in real high grades. They sell for less than $50 in grade very fine, but get up to the $500 mark in high mint state. Looks like they were used a lot. If you live in the UK go to a dealer, for the coin would sell more there than anywhere else. In Coincraft's Standard Catalog of English and UK Coins last published in 2000. The coin books for 6 Pounds in fine and up to 550 Pounds in mint state. It is hard to believe it has gone up that much from then. That is a retail guide and is as such, are all usually very high, coins sell for less sometimes a lot less.
