Check the cable between the computer and the monitor. If it looks fine then unplug both ends and plug them in again while the computer is still on and watch the difference. I bet the monitor will come on again and if it doesnt then the monitor is probably fried but the good news is that they are really cheap.

Are you sure that the monitor connection is good? The monitor is really on? Does the computer beeps? If possible try testing it with a different monitor to see if the problem isn't the monitor.
Good Luck

Make sure your monitor is connected properly. If it still does not turn on, you may have to replace your video card - where monitor plugs into your computer.

If you installed a new graphics card and restored your cpu later you will need to take it out and connect the monitor to the built in graphics card and install the new one later.

If it didn't beep, it didn't go through POST (Power On Self Test)
POST checks to see if mouse, keyboard, etc are connected. if something is wrong it will fail.
check if you just installed some hardware, undo it.
I installed a wireless card in one of my pcs and this happened. No video, no boot.
I pulled the card out and I was back in business.
