Been looking at a few electric guitars recently, but i'm now starting to consider an acoustic instead. I'm looking for a good quality electro acoustic for around £300, but i've only ever concentrated on electrics and so don't know much about this area. I'd be willing to get just an acoustic (instead of an electro-acoustic) if what i'd be buying was worth it. Any ideas??

I have a takamine E series electric acoustic. It seems to be out of your price range but I highly recomend takamine guitars because they have the same quality of a more known brand such as taylor and martin but they cost less. I would say go for an electric acoustic takamine in your price range. www.takamine.com

Takamine are hands down the best quality vs. price deals.
Taylors and Martins are 8 times your budget, and really worth only 2 times your budget, i.e., arrogantly overpriced, if decent.
Ibanez Exotic Woods series are laminate, but excellent quality, great cutaways (so increased playablitiy) and LOOKERS. I am getting either that one or a Carvin Cobalt model, but Carvins sell only online and I don't know how it would work for you in UK with all the extra cost and taxes and such. Conclusion: check out Takamines and Ibanez EW series, and see what you like best.
