The earphone socket on both MP3 player and surround sound are OUTPUTS. You need to find out if the surround sound has a suitable INPUT to take the output from the MP3 player. I doubt if there is, as the earphone output from the MP3 will be low impedance. Also you would need a suitable lead. Hope this helps.

Yes you can - you need a lead with phono plugs at one end (red & white) and a 3.5mm stereo jack plug the other end. Look on the back of your surround sound amp for a suitable input (TV, Ext, Video, DVD, or something similar) and fit white to white, and red to red. The other end obviously fits your MP3 - select which input you've connected up to and enjoy!

By the way, some MP3's have a specific line out feature, which alters the impedance of the output!

There is a cord you can buy that has the left and right audio inputs to plug into your system, and on the other end has something to plug into your MP3 player. My surround system came with one, not sure of its name, but its out there.

the only way that this would paintings is that if all your audio device are related to an exterior amplifier. in case you used the cd participant to ability any of the audio device, they'll no longer play. different than that, It looks like the amp isn't turning on. i'd use the switched 12 volt accessory twine from the old stereo's wiring harness.
