I would like to know where women worked during World war 2 and information about their work duties and stuff.

Try searching for Rosie the riveter on google. You'll find a lot of information on women working in the defense industry during the war. With the men off fighting, the factories needed women to do the work. They learned that women actually have better fine motor skills and that women could work on building big motors faster because they were smaller and fit inside.

Another search would be to look for Women's Army Corps [WAC] to learn about how women served in the military taking clerical, driving and even flying planes to free up men for fighting on the front lines.

I'm betting you'll be fascinated.

My mother worked at a munitions plant called McQuay Norris in St. Louis, Mo. during WWII. Don't know what they manufactured before and after the war but converted over to munitions for the duration of the war.

they wud basically take the role of the man and woman of the house...many women would work in factories etc. and older unmarried women would be hired mostly.
