Iraq was proven not to have weapons of mass destruction. Bush wanted to claim something that would really get us up in arms and ready to fight. I really don't know what you mean by "we kept the Receipts." As far as I know, there were no receipts. Now, we see that it was Bush's private agenda and oil rites that caused the war.

"We kept the receipts" That's good. First we support Saddam in his war with Iran. Then, after he tries to invade Kuwait, we turn on him. The first Bush realized that Iraq was a secular buffer against crazy-Islamist Iran. That's why he didn't invade Baghdad when he could have. He realized that balance is what is needed in the Middle East.
I think we created a situation now where the radical Islamists can very easily take over huge oil-rich sectors of the Middle East, unless we expend a lot of money and lives securing Iraq. No one else cares how badly the US gets hurt fighting this war. They are probably secretly cheering our comeuppance while they stay busy making deals to secure oil reserves for themselves.

Find the UN Security Council website for the 17 unanimous BINDING Resolutions against Saddam's Iraq over 13 years. Your answers are all there. The whole world knew all that time.

after Clinton tried more passive approach to get more answers rather than attacking illegally, Bush decided to doctor the intel so he could do what he wanted.

Does it matter anymore? Whatever about WMD we are now fighting terrorists who are doing victory dances over the democratics stance of the war. Sounds kinda ominous to me.
