Any of them! Songs From a Room is a classic album, as is Death of a Ladies Man. For more recent stuff Ten New Songs is fantastic and contains the best ever song lyric 'I'm wanted at the traffic jam, they're saving me a seat' but you can't go wrong if you start off with one of the 'Best Of' albums. If you want to know more about the guy and his music check out this site.

I agree that his Greatest Hits albums are a good way to start. But there are lots of gems u will miss if u dont get the original albums from which the greatest hits were taken. A movie that is a real treasure for Cohen fans is Robert Altman's film "McCabe and Mrs. Miller," a gritty, realistic Western that avoids the usual cliches. All the songs in the film are Leonard Cohen songs if my memory serves me well.

he is not exactly prolific so you could get them all.The voice on his later albums is a bit deeper with age so i would recommend "the future"and "I'm your man" but they are all great . Have a look on you tube there are many great L.C videos.
