I really like this question.... I would have to say they can, they just choose not to. They are so big that is sort of a pain to even try any more :P

Experiment. Roam around in the forest. When you see a Sasquatch, climb a tree and see if he comes after you.

Why would sasquatch climb on something it would most likely wipe its as$ on? Too big to do the reach around and use the pine cone method. Whats its alternative?

if there was a sasquatch I dont think they could climb trees, I wouldnt think the tree limbs would hold their weight

They sure can. That's how I saw my first one. He was scaling up a tree. Don't let their size fool you...they are more agile than you think.
