There is sound evidence that he was sad after the attack. He never thought the building would collapse.
One theory is Bin Laden was striking back because the US bombed his family's Bank in Beirut in 1967.
I don't think this is exactly true. He was manipulated by the Muslim Brotherhood and radicalized by Ayman al-Zawahiri.
The government information is not the whole story. I would really love to see the US actually do something about 911
