With saltwater fish, the bigger the tank the better. It is actually easier to balance (get the water to get to the correct levels) a large tank than a small one. I would recommend a minimum tank size of 40 gallons, but preferably at least a 70 gallon.

I have had successful saltwater tanks as small as 29 gallons, but I wouldn't recommend that small of a tank for a beginner. The bigger the tank, the better, for saltwater fish.

Yeah i would agree. the bigger the tank, the better! It really depends on what you want in your tank. There are some beautiful fish that are not too expensive. A cute clownfish goes for about $15-$20. Overall keeping a salt water tank is expensive and I recommend setting aside a lot of money. I have a 30 gallon tank and I would say about $500. That includes EVERYTHING including fish ( i set aside about $100 for those) and LR (liveRock) and all my supplies. Feel Free to email me!
