An advisory is similar to a watch, which is to say we are expecting such and such to happen. A warning is the observation, visual or by radar, of that which was forecast to occur in the advisory statement.

An advisory usually means that the weather will hamper your travels and activities moderately, but won't make it impossible. A warning means that the weather will ahmper your travels and activities severely, but this time, it may or may not make your travels impossible.

advisory means watching to see and warning means it's comining.

advisory = may happen... we are watching it to see if it develops
warning = we believe it will hit
