It is probably a scam. There have been ongoing scams similar to this involving a nonexisting "Omni" Hotel in Toronto. Look closer into it and beware... most offers like this ARE scams to get your personal information and/or money.

It's a scam, people ask about Plaza hotel in Ottawa and no one in Canada has ever heard of it. Canada does not need to import people for hotel employees. They will steel your identity or charge you fees for legal or visa, etc. But they will not get you into the country.

If you receive on-line job offers, consider the following:

* Does the email or job posting direct you to contact an email address that uses a free webmailer (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc)?
* Does the recruiter have a website that matches the domain of the email address? For an email address like name@example.com there should be a website like http://www.example.com and it should be a recruiting company.
* Does the company provide a postal address, telephone and fax number?
* Can you independently verify the postal addresses on a Google search?
* Are the conditions too favourable ($30,000 per month salary, five star hotel accomodation)?

It's a scam. There is no plaza hotel in Ottawa. This question has been asked many times before. They gave you the address of 1744 Michael St, right? The addresses on Michael St. don't even go that high.

It is a scam. A very old scam. In the Great Depression years
growers would sometimes have paid ads placed in newspapers
around Canada reporting shortages of harvest labour. Soon after
thousands of would-be applicants would descend upon farmland
only to discover only a few hundred available temporary positions.
The grower intent was to force people to accept very low wages,
harsh employment conditions, and no post-harvest alternatives.
