I know some people may think it's a bit early but i've been worried I won't get married since i've been 16, I'm now 18. It's just that statistically African-American woman have the lowest marriage rates in the U.S."41.9 percent of black women in America do not get married" If I don't get married I won't be able to have children of my own becasue I don't believe in sex outside of marriage. It scares me immensly, not having a companion in the future. I'm also socially awkward and my standards are very high. I have great dad so I know how a man should treat his wife.
Should I keep worrying or calm down?

I'm also worried because the fact is I'm most likely marrying a black guy, but they have the lowest college graduation rate and the highest incarceration rate. Marrying outside of my race is no problem, but again black women have the lowest chance of being involved in a interracial marriage.

Also, thoughts on an arranged marriage?

Dear Child..........don't worry about not getting married at the tender age of 18.You have all the time in the world ahead of you and to come out of your shell. I think it's wonderful that you have high standards.Keep them !! Even more wonderful is the fact you have a great dad who helps you keep those standards.
The right guy will come along at the right time and there are plenty of black men who are intelligent and well educated.Give yourself the opportunity to meet them by being a college grad yourself as education is so very important.
Keep up the good work as I feel you are definetly heading in the right direction.Just calm down and take life one day at a time.
God Bless You my dear.

First of all, blacks may have a lower college graduation rate and high incarceration rate...but that could mean that cops are letting other races get off scott-free! that is the society we live in today, it's freaking sad....find a man you love-black or other...and maybe, since you're so young you will be able to help him achieve his goals, you sound like a bright young woman.....don't get down and out over this....reach all of your goals/success and than look for someone who will treat you as good as your father does!!!!! you don't find too many people who are willing to wait until marriage to have sex...hey, be the unique and special person then.......other's wish they would have waited too.....
