I'm a college student and I think it is hard to say what an important class to take in college. It all depends on your major. However you do have to take your generals which I think are your most important. To answer your question, it's will be your generals, which consist of a math, philosophy, reading/writing, a physical education class and a communications class. Those are the most important classes but they will change depending on which college you attend, the rest depends on your major.

English - if you don't have a thorough understanding of the English language, you are not going to understand any other subject, be it math, science, history, etc. How can you possibly comprehend any school subject if you can't speak and understand English properly? How can you understand a math problem if you don't understand what you are reading? The same goes for everything else - if you don't understand what you are reading in any subject, you are going to suffer academically.

It depends on what you are going to study in college. If you are going into medicine, you need science and biology. If you want to be a lawyer, history, civics and English are very important. So you see there is no simple answer. It depends on your plans for the future.
