House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who yanked embattled Rep. William J. Jefferson off a powerful tax committee last year, has decided to put him on the Homeland Security panel, aides to the Louisiana Democrat confirmed yesterday.

Ppelosi weakened the Homeland security council by failing to put the ranking democrat Jane Harmon because of political spite.
An now she appoints a known thief and criminal to the nation's most important committee in the House. By doing that she is thumbing her nose at the entire country.
It's bad enough she is allowing this known taker of bribes to continue in the House but to put him in a crucial committee appointment is ludicrous.
