I have some small fiberglass damage on my RV. I don't want or need professional repairs, but would like to paint over the area (I filled in the small area with a fiberglass repair kit) and can easily match the color.

Is there special paint I would use?
Is this a reasonable solution?

It should be fine if you have sealed it well. Ask an auto paint store for paint.

This is as easy as 1-2-3

go to the web site of the RV manufacture and look up or go to support and find the color of paint your RV is and order from them a small spay can of the matching color. When can arrives, clean area, tach dry and coat.
There ya go...
