I am still dreaming about my first love. I loved him when I was 15-18. I am now 22, and haven't seen or spoken with him since I was 18. I don't spend my days pining for him, I never even think about him when I'm awake.

About three nights out of the week, I dream about him. My dreams are crazy, and wild, and fun. But I don't know...it is normal for me to be dreaming about a guy that is no longer in my life - and will never be in my life again? Does anyone else do this?

Interesting question. Yes - me too. Actually, people that I have felt a really strong connection with I have dreamed about over and over. I have a close friend who dreams of the place he was raised. To me, I think it is a deep longing for connection of some sort - to regain something we believed that we lost. It's, I think, a very symbolic expression of a desire for unconditional love, fulfillment, safety, security. Just a guess.

Today 3 years after the unit split I still dream of her, once or twice a month, and I think of her almost every other day ...

as far as dreams while sleeping, I rarely have those. However, day dreams, or conscious memories which pop into ones mind concerning past loves? Those are quite possible, I know. It's natural to remember the fondest of times with an old flame. I feel that the best way to replace those dreams would be to replace the one who resides in them. Best wishes
