It is a good question. I must point out though that most Scots DO NOT want independance as is shown at every election. The main Scottish political party which wants independance is the SNP (Scottish National Party) and although they have MPs in the UK government, they do not have as mainy as the "mainstream"parties which wish to continue the Act of Union of 1707. Act of Union with Ireland was in 1800. Also I would say it is unwise to judge the political mood of an entire nation based on a film. An enjoyable but part fictional film and set in the 1200s. A long time ago.

I am a Scot.We want independence because many in Scotland feel the way the UK is headed-into the war on terror, into the EU etc may not be right for their country. However because England's population is bigger it is their voice that matters in the UK.

Because a 'German' got invited over and he stole the land of the highlanders and gave it to his Friends. The low land Scott's and English.

The act of Union is only 300 years old and these actions were only about 250 years ago (believe me) that is still in living memory if you're a Scot!

Sorry going to disappoint you - Braveheart is nothing like what happened - its what has been interpreted by Mel Gibson and Hollywood.

Secondly I don't know how Scotland are going to cope with independence after all the trouble even building a Parliament without actually doing anything in it. Its a bit of misty eyed 'how would have been if England hadn't invaded us and taught us how to us a knife and fork etc'

The Scots would get independence if enough of them voted for the Scottish National Party - but they didn't.
Those that want independence think that their separate national identity should get more political expression.

uk= uk.. the snp are no longer presenting the destroy up of the dominion, basically the political gadget. so the united kingdom might proceed to be besides the undeniable fact that it wont have any political overtones. besides the undeniable fact that all this might might desire to be formalised in the example of an independence vote.

I used to until i realised we'd have a bunch of poltically correct tossers from the labour party ruling us forever, as most scottish people are brain dead idiots when it comes to putting an X on a ballot paper

its a gov plan to devide the nation, at the same time as making the scotts think they are going to be free, but they are not, they are going to be dominated by the united states of europe just like england wales and ireland, un less the scotts out manouver them and break out of europe as well that would realy spoil the plans of the british traitor.
