It's a Japanese cartoon; more formaly known as "anime". If you do decide to watch it, I'd advise watching it in Japanese with English subtitles. Much better. And if you don't like subtitles; at least give them a chance. I used to hate reading them, but they grew on me and maybe they will for you, too! You can watch FREE full episodes on youtube.com. There was once a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox who attacked the Hidden Leaf Village of the ninjas. A swipe from one of its nine tails could cause earthquakes and crumble mountains. All the ninjas in the village tried to fight it in vain, until the Fourth Hokage sacrificed his own life to seal the Demon Fox away...within the navel of a newborn baby boy. That boy's name: Naruto Uzumaki.
It is now twelve years later, and Naruto has grown up to be a very mischievous young boy, painting graffiti on the monuments and pulling pranks on everyone. He seems to enjoy bumming around, and is not taking his ninja apprenticeship too seriously. In fact, his teacher, Iruka tells him that he is the only one in the class who hasn't yet passed the final apprenticeship test, and Naruto has already failed the test three times!
But when a devious plan by an ambitious "Chuunin" (middle-level ninja) places Iruka-sensei's life in danger, Naruto's determination manifests itself and he saves his teacher. Naruto passes, and he now begins his journey towards being a true ninja!

A young boy named Naruto who desires to become Hokage or head ninja he had a troubled past bc he was orphaned and rejected by many until he met his teacher Iruka who showed him what it was like to be cared about. He and his three teammates Sasuke, himself, and Sakura are students under Kakashi if you want to know what is happening in the series right now watch the show it comes on tonight on cartoon network at 9

Naruto is about a nation of ninjas who used there different form of power called chakira which helps them to defeat there rivals.In the leaf village about 10 years ago there was an attack by the 9-tailed fox the leader the 4 hokage.Defeated him at the cost of his life and entrapted the demon into the body of a newborn.The newborn grew up and his name was Naruto.Shunned by many he knew nothing about his parents and himself he grew pulling pranks and being held back.he one day desires to become the hokage so he finally gets the respect of others and so he can be taken seriously as a ninja.This story goes on to tell about his life and many others that he encounters.I highly recommend it because once u get the story its really cool.

its about a boy named uzumaki naruto who has the spirt of a nine-tailed fox seeled inside him called kyuubi now naruto and his teammates uchiha sasuke and haruno sakura are ninjas- in- training guided by copy cat ninja hatake kakashi

It's about a ninja school and a bunch of kids that take all kinds of tests to become ninjas. My son says the uncut Japanese version is better according to one of his friends....
